If you cannot solve the proposed problem try to solve first some related problem.

문제가 크고 모호할 때에는 더 작고 구체적인 문제를 풀어보라고 제안한다. 문제를 정의하는 연습을 해보고있는데, 아직 어렵다. AI를 통해 생산성을 높여보자고 문제를 이야기하게되는데, 더 좁혀서 반복적인 데이터 흐름 작업을 자동화한다고 말해야한다. 그래야 문제에 해당하는 미지수를 찾아낼 수 있다.

Thus, in countless problems, we have to ask the question: What is the unknown? We may vary the words, and ask the same thing in many different ways: What is required? What do you want to find? What are you supposed to seek? The aim of these qucstions is to focus the student's attention upon the unknown. Sometimes, we obtain the same effect more naturally with a suggestion: Look at the unknown! Question and suggestion aim at the same effect; they tend to provoke the same mental operation.

문제를 정의하려면 최종적으로 찾아낼 미지수 x를 만들어야한다. 그 과정에서 데이터를 수집하고, 데이터와 미지수 간 관계를 파악해서 수식을 만들어낸다.

문제를 풀기 이전에 그 풀이에 대해 갈망해야한다고 한다. 지적 호기심을 자극하고, 적당한 난이도로 나누며, 내가 가장 지루하거나 불편한 것에 대해서 계속해서 살펴보라고 한다.
